If you want to be making money these days, your best bet is to go to where the people are and the action is, and nowhere has more going on than Sydney. Whether you want to be making money on real estate or by launching your own television show, Sydney is one of those places where anything can and does happen, so roll on into this beautiful harbour city and show everyone what you are made of. The following are just some of the multitude of ways you can be making money in Sydney.

Invest In Property

The real estate market in Sydney is always booming as there is never any shortage of people wanting to move to this beautiful harbour city, so a great way to make some money is to talk to a buyer’s agent in Sydney, and invest in some property. Whether you invest in a second home or a block of apartments that you can rent out, there is definitely a need for more accommodation in Sydney, and your investment property in Sydney will likely prove to be the cash cow of your financial portfolio.

Start A Small Business

There are just over four million people living in Sydney, meaning there is a huge amount of people constantly looking for food, entertainment, fashion, and other ways to spend their money. If you have a special talent that you think people would be willing to spend some money on, it might be worth your while starting your own small business and establishing a profitable little niche for yourself. Whether it is making sandwiches, selling art or designing wedding dresses, in a city this big there is always room for one more awesome shop, especially if you can offer something no one else can.

Do Tours

One of the reasons why so many people come to Sydney is because there is so much to see, so if you have a bit of knowledge of the city, you could do quite well running your own tours. On any day of the year there are thousands of tourists in Sydney struggling to make their way around the city, most of whom would gladly part with some cash to have someone show them a few of the highlights.

Teach People How To Swim

Everyone in Sydney, locals and tourists alike, will find themselves at the beach or the pool at least a few times throughout the year, making it crucial that they know how to swim. Most kids in Australia do swimming lessons as part of their schooling, so you can either try to get work at pools that run this training, offer private lessons for kids who are having a hard time of it, or even teach tourists who want to be able to fully enjoy being at the beach. Regardless, there is never a shortage of people that want to learn how to swim as if you are going to want to swim anywhere, it will be at the magnificent Sydney beaches.

Photography

You won’t find a more beautiful city than Sydney anywhere in the world, so if you are a talented snapper, you will have a lot to work with here. Whether you decide to sell your pictures at the local markets or down by the beach, there are always lots of tourists looking for souvenirs, and if you can do your own framing too, you may be able to do quite well for yourself.

Herbal teas are infusions of plant parts other then those of the tea bush, and can include the flowers, fruit, leaves, roots, seeds or grains from many different plants. Often people prefer herbal teas over black, green or white tea because they don’t have caffeine. There are many different flavours and they often have healing or soothing properties. Here are some great examples of infusions made from flowers that are especially healthy and beneficial for the body.

Chamomile

Probably one of the most popular flowers to use in a herbal infusion is from the chamomile plant. This golden herb is a modern favourite for promoting calmness, relieving anxiety, and promoting better sleep. The anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of chamomile also help to relieve stomach pain, irritable bowel syndrome and may even act as a mild laxative. When steeped, these blossoms smell of freshly cut apples and make for a great floral, caffeine-free infusion.

Chrysanthemum

Tea made from chrysanthemum petals has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. It is seen as a “cooling” herb that can aid in the body’s recovery from influenza, reduce fever, as well as provide relief from sinus and head congestion. This tea can also help to cleanse and detoxify the liver, which improves the health of your blood and skin, and assists in circulatory disorders such as varicose veins and blocked arteries. Even though the tea is caffeine-free, it is a great pick-me-up that promotes the feeling of being alert.

Echinacea

Echinacea tea is an infusion of the petals, stems, leaves and roots that create a healthy drink generally used to boost immune system functioning. People often use echinacea tea in times of stress, in harsh environments or simply when they feel their body needs a bit of reinforcement. Drinking the tea will help your body resist infection, mend injured tissue and stimulate healthy body functioning.

Hibiscus

The health benefits of the tea made from hibiscus flowers is well known in many countries, and is a drink that can be served hot or cold. This beverage is unique for its colour, tanginess and tart flavour as well as its ability to reduce high blood pressure in people who drink it regularly. The beautiful flower contains a significant amount of vitamin C, helps to reduce bad cholesterol and is an antioxidant that helps to fight cancer.

Jasmine

Jasmine flowers make for one of the best herbal infusions because of the sweet flavour and inviting aroma. Drinking the tea helps to boost antioxidants in the body and works to reduce inflammatory problems. The health advantages of the tea include enhanced immune system, more energy, better concentration, weight loss, decreased stress, fewer allergies, lower cholesterol, cold and flu prevention, and the easing of joint and muscle pain.

If you choose to drink herbal tea infusions over regular tea and coffee then you may have a much healthier lifestyle. There are so many beneficial plants out there that it is easy to find one that you can not only enjoy the taste of, but also the health benefits that come with it.

Lotus Notes was a very popular program some time ago. Because Outlook offers a range of richer features at much lower licensing prices, converting Lotus Notes to Outlook (convert nsf to pst) has become increasingly common. At the same time, we are confronting many issues that cannot be solved by manual methods, or those provided by the original manufacturers. Here is a look at some of the reasons why.

Manual or manufacturer migration issues. Both Lotus and Microsoft have a number of tools to assist with the conversion of files, but in many cases companies have been working with Lotus Notes for a number of years, and they have a huge variety of custom applications, even a large number of encrypted files they need to convert. These are just two examples where manufacturer applications are not very good at exporting or importing files.

Corruption of files. Migration abortion with Lotus to Outlook (nsf to pst) is very common. Just because we are converting one file type to another, does not mean we keep the original file intact. If the process hits data that is complex or the application is unable to handle that data type, the process of migration can be stalled. Aborting a migration in progress often results in considerable damage to the original file.

Third party trials. Premium software providers all provide a considerable trial version of their applications. This means consumers and companies can try before they buy. This still does not mean they can have the full product, but it does mean we can get a look at what we are buying. In many cases, we can see the successful conversion of a small part of our database.

Third party applications and consulting. Third party or premium application developers are normally very specialised in what they do. This means they provide consultation with the use of their software. This is something we rarely find with manufacturers and their software products. Discussion boards and forums can often lead to more confusion than help. The file and technical issues of converting files and mailboxes are only part of the issues companies will confront. Issues related to operations management and minimising downtime are very important, and how to deal with the changeover may require some consultation.

Success stories. When other companies are converting, not losing data, and success stories are spreading around cyber space, those who are looking for solutions will follow suit. The issues related to the conversion of these file types, the seriousness of what it involves, means there is money to be made. If you can find a solution that works, you will be sure to buy it.

There is an underlying message in this article. Third party premium applications and the consulting that comes along with them are worth paying for. Your company may have specific custom applications that will make the conversion of your LN files to Outlook very difficult. There is only one way to get help. Premium applications and support are your way out of the darkness. The cost of conversion may very well be much less than the cost of maintaining old applications.

Travelling around Australia is difficult because there is so much space between everything.

Image via Wikipedia

When planning a trip, it is important to carry out extensive research and be clear about what it is that you want to see and do. Upon arrival you will be distracted by a multitude of possibilities, but the best way to experience Australia is to stick to your original plan so you can experience all that you really hoped to. This guide will suggest some of the best hotspots and provide a brief synopsis of some awesome activities in Australia.

Uluru: Without a doubt Uluru is one of the greatest places to visit in Australia. It is an outcrop of rock which was formed at the bottom of an ocean (which used to cover much of Australia). It stands out from the desert and spans an amazing 5 kilometres around. Be warned that Uluru is in the middle of nowhere, literally, and it will take some careful planning in order to get there during your visit.

The Great Ocean Road

Manly Beaches

Brisbane: This wonderful city is situated on the Gold Coast of Australia. Spending a week or two in a serviced apartment in Brisbane will enable you to appreciate all that the sunshine state has to offer. Securing an apartment in Brisbane will give you an excellent base from which to explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef.

Dive on the Great Barrier Reef

Sydney: One of the most amazing cities in Australia. It is home to the Opera House, Sydney Olympic Park and the Harbour Bridge; three of the most iconic Australian symbols. These attractions are just the surface of Sydney, however, and there is far more of interest hidden beneath. Areas such as Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, which was carved by convicts when Australia was first colonised, offers a view of Sydney’s Central Business District. This is a sight to behold during the day and at night it comes alive with the sparkle of lights.

Go hunting in the outback

Go kite surfing

Learn to wind surf

Go White Water Rafting: By visiting Cairns you will get the opportunity to white water raft on either the Barron River or the Tully River. Both are powerful bodies of water which will take strength and concentration to navigate. This is the ultimate adrenaline experience for all the thrill junkies out there.

Manly OceanWorld: Take this opportunity to swim with real live sharks. What could be better?

The Natural Bridge: Another Queensland gem, the Natural Bridge is a waterfall which has worn away a cave beneath the water. You can actually walk beneath the waterfall with torrents rushing overhead without getting wet. It is a fantastic experience to hear the roar of a waterfall without the danger of being trapped by its powerful currents.

The Whitsunday Islands: If you are after a relaxing holiday with nothing to do but bask in the sun and swim casually in a warm sea, then the Whitsundays are for you. These idyllic outcrops are the perfect location for a romantic getaway and they are well serviced by a range of 5 star hotels.

Apartments are usually a lot smaller than a regular house, so often it can take a bit of clever and creative organisation to make the most of the space that you have.

Image by Getty Images via @daylife

It is a good idea when moving into a new apartment to hire a good removalist as usually you have to navigate stairs with heavy furniture, so it is best to get someone with experience and insurance! Like every new home you also need to check that your home and contents insurance is up to date.

Storage

One of the most important things you will need when living in an apartment is enough storage space. With limited floor area, you’ll really want somewhere to put away all those things that you don’t use all the time. Storage in the kitchen is important, especially for bulky appliances, and having lots of tucked away cupboard space is crucial. Ideally you should have built in robes in all the bedrooms, which won’t take up any precious floor area. If you have the option to design the inside of your apartment yourself, you should ensure that clever storage is up there as a priority.

Arrange your furniture

When arranging the furniture in your new apartment, think about where the flow of traffic is through the rooms. Don’t put furniture in a place where it is going to be constantly in the way. Think about how you can maximise what you have by arranging your furniture to create the illusion of space. You might find that if you are moving from a house to an apartment that you need to get rid of some of your furniture. Your apartment will appear larger if you have less clutter. Think about what pieces of furniture that you really need and start eliminating. Hang onto the bits you really love but anything old, damaged or anything you don’t use, get rid of it!

Space savers

Think about ways that you can save space. Built in robes are important to have. If you have a separate laundry, have an ironing board mounted on the wall that folds down. If you don’t have room for a laundry there may be a section of your apartment where your washing machine and dryer can be cleverly hidden behind big folding doors. You might not need a kitchen table, instead have stools at your kitchen bench. If it is just you, or yourself and your partner, then you should get by without a table. Roller blinds take up less room than curtains. If you have an island bench in your kitchen, have cupboards that go all the way around underneath so that you have a lot of extra storage.

Light

Keep your apartment well lit and it will appear bigger than it actually is. Keep the paintwork a lighter colour and make sure there is enough natural light. You might not need big heavy curtains.

You don’t need to live a cramped and cluttered life if you move into an apartment. Just think about how you can make the most of the space you have.
