The funny thing is that I've spent fifteen years in the burbs and small towns, and fifteen years in a densely populated city, and the city (SF, CA) is much more of a conformist political death trap than any small town or suburb I've ever lived in. Maybe it's just the ridiculousness that is San Francisco, and other cities aren't so polar or unilateral. Anyone else seen this phenomenon in other cities?
