MAUT made in Germany

HighwayautobahnGermany has a new MAUT system for its freeways (Autobahn). After a very bad start (the implementation was delayed for several months/years), the system is now cutting-edge and several European countries show interest in implementing the same technology. The official website is currently in German only, but the Toll-Collect site that targets truckers and their companies has a section in English and provides basic background information.

While searching for some materials that might be interesting to folks in California I came across the German "Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen (Federal Highway Research Institute)" and its website (in English). You may want to check out the section on "Currently implemented research."
